OPERATIONS FLIGHT TECHNICIAN

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include planning, coordinating, and scheduling of aircraft flying air mobility missions; aircraft systems, capabilities and limitations to include performance, range, fuel requirement, configuration, and landing and takeoff weight restrictions to ensure that safe and proper mission scheduling; aircrew requirements and limitations, such as crew duty day, crew rest and alert times, and minimum ground times; flight operations, airfield information and restrictions, enroute supplements; i.e. runway length, load bearing capability, and types of fuel available. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of, and skill in applying, Aviation Resource Management (ARMS) FRMS directives, instructions and manuals with emphasis on knowledge of personnel flight records maintenance, operating/navigating ARMS data system operating procedures, file structure, interface requirement sand oracle browsers; preparation, processing and auditing of associated documentation ( e.g., AFTO Form 781 ). Knowledge gained in an Air Force environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of Aviation Resource career field proficiency and skills enhancement requirements. 2. Knowledge of, and ability to implement, procedures for safeguarding classified information and databases, computer security procedures, etc. 3. Knowledge and experience in using advanced functions of office automation software ( e.g. word processing, spread sheet, etc). A qualified typist is not required. 4. Ability to effectively communicate orally and legibly in writing and ability to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. 5. Ability to analyze transactions and records and to interpret directives governing assigned area. 6. Demonstrated ability to work in a high operations tempo atmosphere. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
