WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST

In order to qualify, you must meet the basic requirement and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree:
biological science that included:
At least 9 semester hours in such wildlife subjects as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, wildlife management, or research courses in the field of wildlife biology; and At least 12 semester hours in zoology in such subjects as general zoology, invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, cellular biology, parasitology, entomology, or research courses in such subjects (Excess courses in wildlife biology may be used to meet the zoology requirements where appropriate.); and At least 9 semester hours in botany or the related plant sciences. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes modifying or adapting standard techniques, processes, and procedures, and to access select and apply precedents and devise strategies and plans to overcome significant resource problems related to program management and evaluation. Analyzing data or to prepare studies and reports on the impact of various management or public practices on natural resources. Utilizing contracting procedures and legal requirements to develop detailed contract specifications, task statements, statements of work (SOW), quality of work criteria, and related specifications for use in obtaining specific kinds of work and services through competitive contract channels. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Equivalent to a major in biological science (i.e., at least 30 semester hours), with at least 9 semester hours in wildlife subjects, 12 semester hours in zoology, and 9 semester hours in botany or related plant science, as shown in specialized experience above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. YOU MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of techniques, concepts, principles, and practices to include knowledge of the areas of wildlife conservation, biology, forestry, ecology, ecosystems management and related programs. 2. Knowledge of Air iForce land management policies, priorities, and procedures and federal and state environmental and natural resource laws, regulations, policies to ensure all plans and programs are consistent with such policies, proprieties, procedures, and legal requirements. 3. Skill and experience in project management to include programming future year projects, writing statement of work and cost estimates, evaluating contractor proposals, and managing work performed by contractors it include reviews of technical documents. 4. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, theories, and processes involved in natural resource management, Endangered Species Act compliance, and military use of air space. 5. Skill in providing sufficient, sound professional natural resource management, recommendations and counsel to higher level management an other professionals involved with the BMGR and the Air Force Natural Resource Program. 6. Knowledge of the interest and objectives of various agencies and their efforts regarding the development and management of natural resources. 7. Ability to provide reasonable solutions to problems and skill to analyze data in preparing studies and reports on the impact of various management of public practices on resources. 8. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to include presentations to technical and lay audiences, and ability to use common computer software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, and database. 9. Ability to work with multiple offices or agencies to manage land resources of other cross jurisdictional issues, Ability to build good working relationships with other people from various agencies, groups, special interest groups, and general public. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
